Senior Database Administrator
Our client is seeking a Senior Database Administrator who brings deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving capabilities, and a collaborative mindset to support complex enterprise data environments. This individual will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing both on-premise and cloud-based database systems, while partnering closely with development and analytics teams to deliver scalable, high-performing data solutions. This role supports a hybrid data ecosystem including on-prem SQL Server, Azure cloud services, and Snowflake, and will contribute to both production support and project-based initiatives.

This role is fully remote.

Senior Database Administrator Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level database systems across on-premise SQL Server, Azure cloud platforms, and Snowflake environments.
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
• Administer and support business intelligence platforms, including Tableau Server and PBIRS, ensuring availability and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and support ETL processes and data pipelines for reporting and analytics.
• Lead database architecture efforts, including establishing technical standards and best practices for large-scale data warehousing.
• Manage database security, integrity, and compliance, including access controls, patching, and system upgrades.
• Plan and execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data protection and continuity.
• Develop and maintain database scripts, triggers, and migration processes across development, testing, and production environments.
• Partner with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to integrate data across multiple systems and platforms.
• Support both ongoing production operations and new project initiatives, including scoping, planning, and technical implementation.

Senior Database Administrator Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in database administration within complex enterprise environments.
• Advanced experience managing both on-premise and cloud-based database systems, including Azure and Snowflake.
• Strong expertise with Azure technologies such as Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Blob Storage.
• Proven experience with Snowflake platform administration in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience administering Tableau Server and PBIRS, including upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Strong background in database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and system optimization.
• Experience partnering with developers to design and support ETL processes and data integration workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to support large-scale data warehousing and enterprise data architecture initiatives.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.

Compensation: $75-$85/hr. (DOE)
