Process Engineer
Our client is seeking a Process Engineer to support the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes in a dynamic production environment. This role serves as a key technical resource, partnering with production, quality, and maintenance teams to improve efficiency, reduce waste, enhance product quality, and solve complex manufacturing challenges. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and passionate about driving operational excellence through innovative process improvements.

This role is on-site in Hubbard, Oregon working from 6AM-2:30PM.

Process Engineer Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes that improve productivity, reduce costs, minimize defects, and enhance overall product quality.
  • Serve as the technical bridge between production, quality, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure efficient, standardized manufacturing operations.
  • Analyze manufacturing performance using Statistical Process Control (SPC), root cause analysis, and other data-driven problem-solving techniques to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing process variation, increasing throughput, and optimizing manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop, maintain, and update manufacturing documentation, process instructions, control plans, and tooling or fixture modifications.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, investigate process deviations, and recommend sustainable solutions to improve equipment and process performance.
  • Collaborate with quality teams to establish manufacturing standards, inspection requirements, and process controls that meet customer and regulatory expectations.
  • Support compliance with applicable quality management systems and industry standards while promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Evaluate manufacturing methods, equipment, and technologies to identify opportunities for operational improvements and long-term process optimization.
  • Train and support production personnel on new manufacturing processes, equipment changes, and standardized work procedures.

Process Engineer Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience ranging from early-career professionals through 8+ years of process or manufacturing engineering experience is encouraged. Candidates with backgrounds in forging, machining, metal processing, aerospace, automotive, or medical device manufacturing are welcome to apply.
  • Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC), root cause analysis, and data-driven problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Understanding of quality management systems and industry standards, including ISO and/or AS quality requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and manufacturing software or ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Salary: $51K-$135K/year. (DOE)
