PeopleSoft System/Application Engineer IV
Our client is seeking a highly experienced PeopleSoft System/Application Engineer IV to provide senior-level technical expertise across PeopleSoft administration, application development, integrations, and platform support. The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on engineering capabilities with advanced troubleshooting, infrastructure knowledge, and the ability to guide team members while supporting a complex, business-critical PeopleSoft environment.

This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside in Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, or North Dakota.

PeopleSoft System/Application Engineer IV Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support PeopleSoft 9.2 environments, including application servers, process schedulers, web servers, WebLogic, Tuxedo, Oracle databases, SSL certificates, and related platform components.
• Develop, enhance, and troubleshoot PeopleSoft applications and integrations using PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Application Designer, Application Engine, Component Interface, SQR, BI Publisher, SQL, Integration Broker, APIs, web services, and file-based interfaces.
• Lead technical activities related to PeopleSoft upgrades, PUM images, patches, tax updates, maintenance releases, environment refreshes, migrations, testing, and production deployments.
• Diagnose and resolve complex application, integration, batch-processing, infrastructure, security, and performance issues while providing on-call support for critical production operations.
• Configure and maintain Integration Broker, web profiles, integration nodes, application domains, clustering, load balancing, failover, and other components supporting platform availability and reliability.
• Partner with database, network, server, scheduling, security, and other technical teams to coordinate system changes, batch processing, infrastructure initiatives, and production support activities.
• Translate business and technical requirements into system designs, application customizations, interfaces, reports, workflows, and scalable technical solutions.
• Perform unit testing and support system and integration testing for application enhancements, configuration changes, upgrades, patches, and defect resolution.
• Maintain technical documentation, change controls, configuration standards, support procedures, and troubleshooting resources while adhering to security, audit, and data-protection requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, identify opportunities for automation and modernization, and help strengthen the reliability and maintainability of the PeopleSoft platform.

PeopleSoft System/Application Engineer IV Qualifications

• Extensive experience administering, developing, and supporting PeopleSoft 9.2, including PeopleTools, PUM images, application servers, process schedulers, web servers, environment management, and system integrations.
• Advanced hands-on experience with PeopleCode, Application Designer, Application Engine, Component Interface, SQR, BI Publisher, PS Query, SQL, and Integration Broker.
• Strong knowledge of supporting technologies such as Oracle Database, WebLogic, Tuxedo, Java, Linux, Windows Server, SSL certificates, load balancing, clustering, and failover.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex PeopleSoft environments, including application performance, batch processing, integrations, SQL, logs, system errors, and infrastructure-related issues.
• Experience supporting upgrades, patches, PUM implementations, environment refreshes, deployments, migrations, and structured change and release management processes.
• Strong technical leadership skills with experience providing guidance, mentorship, and oversight within collaborative, cross-functional technical teams.
• Understanding of security, audit, and data-protection practices for enterprise systems containing sensitive or regulated information.
• Experience automating administration, deployments, environment maintenance, monitoring, or reporting using PowerShell, shell scripting, SQL scripts, Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or comparable tools is preferred.
• Familiarity with modern infrastructure practices, cloud technologies, DevOps methodologies, and system lifecycle management is preferred.
• Must be able to meet production system access requirements associated with the position.
