Onsite IT Business Partner and Network Administrator
Our client is seeking an Onsite IT Business Partner and Network Administrator to provide hands-on technology support and network administration within a fast-paced production environment. This role is ideal for a versatile IT professional who combines strong networking and Active Directory expertise with exceptional customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills. The successful candidate will be comfortable wearing multiple hats, working directly with users and operational teams, and helping maintain reliable technology across multiple locations.
This role is on-site in Gaston, Oregon.
Onsite IT Business Partner and Network Administrator Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary onsite IT partner for a key production facility, collaborating with employees, operations, IT, and operational technology teams to resolve issues and support business needs.
- Administer and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, routing, and connectivity, using command-line tools for configuration and diagnostics.
- Manage and support Active Directory, including user accounts, groups, permissions, policies, and other access-related administration.
- Support the integration and reliability of IT and operational technology environments while helping maintain secure, resilient network infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and systems issues while providing responsive, customer-focused support to both technical and non-technical users.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration records, procedures, and other technical documentation.
- Partner with employees and provide hands-on guidance, coaching, and technical assistance to improve technology adoption and resolve recurring issues.
- Respond to system outages and other urgent technology issues, including providing after-hours and on-call support when necessary.
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades, technology projects, and troubleshooting efforts at additional company locations as needed.
- Adapt priorities quickly based on production requirements, outages, projects, and changing operational needs.
Onsite IT Business Partner and Network Administrator Qualifications
- Strong hands-on network administration experience, including routing, switching, firewall configuration, troubleshooting, and command-line networking.
- Demonstrated experience administering Active Directory, including users, groups, permissions, and Group Policy.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build productive relationships with employees at all levels of technical proficiency.
- Broad IT troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to independently diagnose and resolve network, systems, hardware, and user-support issues.
- Experience supporting a smaller or distributed organization where IT professionals are expected to work across multiple technologies and responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain effective during outages and other time-sensitive situations.
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a willingness to share knowledge, coach users and colleagues, and work across functional boundaries.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, production, or other uptime-sensitive environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with IT/OT environments, high-availability infrastructure, network security, and least-privilege access practices is preferred.
- Ability to work onsite in an industrial environment, including navigating production areas and stairs and performing occasional lifting as required.
- Ability to participate in after-hours/on-call support and travel periodically to other company locations.
Salary: $85K-$135K/year. (DOE)
