Medical Receptionist
Our client is seeking a Medical Receptionist to serve as a welcoming and dependable first point of contact for patients in a busy clinical environment. This role plays a key part in supporting a patient-centered care model by delivering compassionate service, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring smooth front-office operations for both in-person and virtual visits.

This role is onsite in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Medical Receptionist Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, both onsite and virtually, and respond to inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Schedule, confirm, and coordinate appointments while accurately documenting visit details in the electronic health record system.
  • Collect, verify, and update patient demographic and insurance information with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Process co-payments, balance daily transactions, and assist with routine deposit reconciliation as needed.
  • Review and prepare patient charts in advance of appointments to support efficient clinical workflows.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and coverage prior to visits and flag discrepancies appropriately.
  • Scan, index, and maintain medical documentation in accordance with established record-keeping standards.
  • Receive, document, and route patient messages to appropriate clinical or administrative staff in a timely manner.
  • Provide support and guidance to new team members on front-office procedures when requested.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues while maintaining flexibility to assist with additional duties as assigned.

Medical Receptionist Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing role, preferably within a healthcare or clinical setting.
  • Prior experience working with an electronic health record system strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish language skills are highly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a calm, service-oriented approach, even in high-pressure situations.
  • Working knowledge of basic medical terminology and insurance concepts.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and privacy requirements.
  • Comfort managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic, patient-focused environment.
  • Proficiency using multi-line phone systems and standard office technology.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Proven reliability, punctuality, and adaptability to evolving procedures and priorities.

Compensation: $18-$20/hr. (DOE)
