Compensation Analyst
Our client is seeking a Compensation Analyst to support the design, analysis, and delivery of market-aligned and internally equitable compensation programs. This role partners closely with HR and business stakeholders to conduct job evaluations, perform salary benchmarking, support base pay and salary structure decisions, and translate compensation data into clear, actionable insights. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capability, sound judgment, and the ability to confidently explain compensation methodology and educate others on compensation processes.
This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.
Compensation Analyst Responsibilities
- Conduct job evaluations and market pricing through detailed job matching with external salary surveys to support base pay and compensation recommendations.
- Analyze and maintain salary structures, ranges, and compensation processes to ensure internal equity, market competitiveness, and compliance.
- Prepare and present compensation analyses, explaining methodology, findings, and recommendations to HR partners and business stakeholders.
- Support annual compensation cycles, including merit and incentive programs, by developing documentation, coordinating timelines, and ensuring data accuracy.
- Maintain compensation data, survey libraries, and standard operating procedures while responding to compensation-related inquiries and audit requests.
Compensation Analyst Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least three years of hands-on experience in compensation analysis, including job matching, salary surveys, and base pay determination.
- Demonstrated experience working with salary structures, compensation processes, and internal equity reviews.
- Strong analytical skills with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to clearly explain compensation analysis and educate HR partners or leaders with strong communication and presentation skills.
Compensation: $35-$45/hr. (DOE)
