Marketing Operations Manager
Our client is seeking a Marketing Operations Manager to provide strategic planning and operational leadership for a high-profile North America sports marketing team. This role serves as a key partner to senior brand leadership, driving seasonal planning, marketing operations, and cross-functional coordination to ensure campaigns are delivered on time, aligned to brand objectives, and executed with operational excellence. The ideal candidate is highly organized, process-oriented, and experienced in marketing operations within the footwear and apparel industry, with a strong understanding of basketball brand marketing.
This role is on-site in New York City, New York.
Marketing Operations Manager Responsibilities
- Lead seasonal marketing planning and operational readiness by guiding cross-functional teams through key planning milestones and campaign approval processes while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Drive the successful execution of seasonal marketing initiatives by ensuring projects remain on strategy, on schedule, and aligned with established brand standards.
- Partner closely with senior marketing leadership to support strategic planning, communicate operational progress, and provide visibility into campaign health, priorities, and key milestones.
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration across brand marketing, creative, digital, retail, product, and planning teams to ensure alignment, improve workflow efficiency, and reduce rework.
- Manage the overall marketing project portfolio, maintaining accurate project information, timelines, deliverables, and operational documentation throughout the campaign lifecycle.
- Support marketing budget planning and resource management by implementing processes that improve budget visibility, forecasting accuracy, and financial accountability across seasonal initiatives.
- Develop and maintain operational processes that improve planning effectiveness, streamline execution, and enable teams to consistently deliver high-quality marketing campaigns.
- Analyze project progress, identify operational challenges, and recommend solutions that support timely decision-making and continuous process improvement.
- Foster strong working relationships across North American and global teams while serving as a trusted operational partner to cross-functional stakeholders.
Marketing Operations Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing operations, brand planning, or marketing program management.
- Experience supporting basketball marketing initiatives within the footwear and apparel industry.
- Proven success managing complex marketing calendars, seasonal planning, and cross-functional project execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong operational mindset with the ability to organize complex initiatives, prioritize competing deadlines, and drive projects from planning through delivery.
- Experience leading cross-functional collaboration across marketing, creative, product, retail, and digital teams.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate project status, operational insights, and strategic updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Experience supporting marketing budget management, resource planning, and financial tracking is preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Previous experience supporting a global consumer brand or large-scale marketing organization is preferred.
Compensation: Up to $46.67/hr. (DOE)
