Engineering Project Coordinator
Our client is seeking an Engineering Project Coordinator to support engineering and utility operations by coordinating project activities, organizing technical information, and helping ensure compliance initiatives remain on schedule. This individual will work across multiple teams to monitor project progress, analyze engineering data, maintain critical documentation, and support regulatory and operational requirements. The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

This role is on-site in Portland, Oregon.

Engineering Project Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Coordinate engineering and compliance-related projects by tracking progress, following up on action items, and communicating project status with internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze and organize large data sets, research discrepancies, and develop recommendations to support engineering and operational objectives.
  • Support compliance initiatives by monitoring inspection requirements, helping meet regulatory deadlines, and ensuring activities align with applicable federal guidelines.
  • Review engineering, construction, and compliance documentation for completeness and accuracy while maintaining proper records retention practices.
  • Research engineering records, including as-built documentation and abandonment records, to support ongoing projects and compliance activities.
  • Monitor inspection and compliance information within SAP and prepare ad hoc reports for project teams and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to gather information, resolve issues, and support project execution across engineering and utility operations.
  • Assist with contracts, regulatory reporting, inspections, annual reporting, and other administrative functions supporting engineering programs.
  • Evaluate existing workflows and identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and resolve operational issues.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality while performing work with exceptional attention to detail.

Engineering Project Coordinator Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a related technical field, professional certification, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience supporting engineering projects, project coordination, utility operations, or a related environment.
  • Working knowledge of natural gas piping systems.
  • Understanding of engineering records, documentation standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret and apply information from engineering maps and related technical resources.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and produce accurate results with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with common business applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and continuous process improvement.
