Business Analyst
Our client is seeking a Business Analyst to support enterprise modernization initiatives by translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements and process documentation. This role will partner with business stakeholders, technical teams, senior analysts, and external partners throughout the project lifecycle, with an emphasis on requirements gathering, process improvement, testing, and successful implementation.
This position is expected to run from September 2026 through March 2027 and will work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Candidates must be located within approximately 50 miles of Salem, Oregon, or be willing to commute or relocate. The role will primarily support remote work, with on-site attendance required periodically based on business needs.
Business Analyst Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and clarify business requirements through stakeholder interviews, facilitated workshops, document reviews, research, and other discovery activities.
- Translate business needs into well-defined requirements, user stories, business rules, functional specifications, and process documentation that can guide solution delivery.
- Develop and maintain current-state and future-state process flows, standard operating procedures, requirements documentation, and other project artifacts.
- Maintain requirements traceability and help ensure business needs remain aligned with project objectives throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, senior analysts, and vendors to evaluate proposed solutions and communicate requirements effectively.
- Support user acceptance testing by developing test cases, participating in test execution, documenting outcomes, and communicating issues requiring resolution.
- Assist with implementation and organizational readiness activities, including developing end-user training materials and supporting train-the-trainer efforts.
- Evaluate workflow impacts, collect user feedback, and identify opportunities to improve processes, adoption, and overall solution effectiveness.
- Provide additional business analysis and project support as needed to help meet program objectives, milestones, and timelines.
Business Analyst Qualifications
- Experience performing business analysis within complex projects, enterprise initiatives, system implementations, or modernization programs.
- Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, document, and communicate business and functional requirements to both business and technical audiences.
- Experience developing process maps, user stories, business rules, requirements documentation, SOPs, or similar business analysis deliverables.
- Experience supporting user acceptance testing, including test case development, execution, results documentation, and issue identification.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to lead discussions and help build consensus across diverse groups.
- Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into clear, business-focused language.
- Experience supporting change management, training, implementation, or end-user adoption activities.
- Familiarity with relational databases, cloud-based data environments, or other enterprise technology platforms is preferred.
- Knowledge of data governance, privacy, security, or related information-management practices is preferred.
- Experience supporting large-scale modernization or transformation initiatives is preferred.
