Apparel Color Designer
Our client is seeking an Apparel Color Designer to support seasonal product creation through thoughtful and trend-driven color application. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and collaborative designer who can balance creativity with execution, translating insights into compelling color stories across product lines. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, a passion for color innovation, and the ability to communicate design intent clearly across cross-functional teams.
This role follows a hybrid work model based in the Beaverton, Oregon area.
Apparel Color Designer Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional teams including design, product, and development to support cohesive seasonal color direction.
- Develop and apply color palettes, narratives, and updates to existing products under the guidance of design leadership.
- Translate trend research and cultural insights into relevant and market-driven color applications.
- Create visual tools such as mood boards and CADs to communicate color direction and design intent.
- Review product samples, identify color execution issues, and help ensure accuracy from concept through production.
- Provide color expertise and support across multiple projects and teams as needed.
Apparel Color Designer Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in apparel or color design, with a strong understanding of color application in product.
- Prior experience within a large-scale or global consumer brand environment strongly preferred.
- Expertise in color theory, materials, dyes, finishes, and overall color feasibility in production.
- High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and presentation tools such as Keynote.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly through both visual and verbal storytelling.
Compensation: Up to $40.67/hr. (DOE)
