Accounting Consultant
Our client is seeking a highly collaborative and detail-oriented Accounting Consultant who thrives at the intersection of accounting and systems transformation. This individual brings strong analytical thinking, clear communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex projects while partnering cross-functionally. The ideal candidate is adaptable, solutions-focused, and capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon. Applicants who are fully remote and meet all qualifications may be considered. PST working hours are required.
Accounting Consultant Responsibilities
- Partner with accounting leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to support system-related transformation initiatives impacting asset accounting processes.
- Lead analysis, design, and documentation of future-state processes, including master data structure, system impacts, and implementation roadmaps.
- Support system implementations and enhancements through user acceptance testing, validation, and issue resolution.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives.
- Communicate project updates and process changes across teams to drive alignment, adoption, and operational efficiency.
Accounting Consultant Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or 7+ years of equivalent accounting experience.
- 7+ years of corporate accounting experience, including journal entries, reconciliations, and strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Experience supporting accounting system projects, such as ERP implementations, system enhancements, or SOX-related controls.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
- Preferred experience in asset accounting, utilities, or complex accounting areas such as intercompany or M&A, with CPA certification a plus.
Compensation: Up to $71/hr. (DOE)
