Strategic Procurement Manager
Our client is seeking a Strategic Procurement Manager who thrives on building something from the ground up. The ideal candidate is a self-starting, commercially sharp influencer who earns trust across Legal, Finance, IT, and the business as a true partner. If you enjoy turning ambiguity into practical process and presenting with confidence at every level, this is a rare chance to shape a brand-new function with a dynamic and growing retail organization.
This role is remote, with occasional travel to Oregon based HQ. Applicants must reside in the Pacific or Mountain time zone, with West Coast based candidates strongly preferred.
Strategic Procurement Manager Responsibilities
- Build and launch a centralized strategic sourcing function for indirect and non-product spend, including intake, thresholds, and competitive RFP processes.
- Lead pricing validation, benchmarking, and commercial negotiations on high-value technology, SaaS, cloud, software licensing, and professional services agreements.
- Partner with Legal and business owners on major contracts and renewals, serving as the go-to negotiation resource for key enterprise platform deals.
- Establish vendor governance and contract repository discipline, including vendor ownership, renewal and notice tracking, and visibility into significant renewals roughly six months out.
- Create the tools, templates, scorecards, and reporting for a repeatable process, and partner with Finance on spend baselines, savings validation, and a six-month recommendation for a broader sourcing function.
Strategic Procurement Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, with a focus in supply chain, business administration, finance, or operations preferred.
- 10+ years in strategic sourcing, indirect procurement, or enterprise vendor management, with a proven track record of building or maturing sourcing processes in a decentralized environment.
- Strong commercial negotiator with deep enterprise technology and SaaS contracting knowledge, including usage-based pricing, licensing, SLAs, and vendor lock-in risk, who uses data to demonstrate savings and cost avoidance.
- Skilled at leading through influence across Legal, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders, with excellent presentation skills and the ability to adapt style to any audience.
- Proficient in Google Workspace and CLM/Contract Management systems; Retail, multi-location, or transformation environment background are preferred.
Salary: $130K-$170K/year + Bonus. (DOE)
Benefits
Benefits are available to eligible full-time employees and include coverage for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long term disability, and matching 401k.
