Patient Access Specialist
Our client is seeking a Patient Access Specialist who brings a welcoming, service-oriented approach to supporting patients, families, and healthcare teams in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and composed under pressure, with strong communication skills and the judgment to manage multiple priorities while delivering an excellent patient experience.
This role is on-site in Boston, Massachusetts.
Patient Access Specialist Responsibilities
- Provide professional, courteous support to patients, families, clinical teams, physicians, and other staff.
- Accurately enter, access, and maintain patient and administrative information within computerized systems.
- Coordinate multiple tasks and processes while prioritizing work effectively in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Apply sound judgment and make appropriate independent decisions when handling time-sensitive or challenging situations.
- Perform general administrative functions, including telephone support, typing, filing, and basic office equipment troubleshooting.
Patient Access Specialist Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two years of relevant experience, preferably within patient access, medical office, managed care, insurance, or customer service.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations, with strong computer and data-entry skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with the capacity to manage complex processes accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, teamwork, and problem-solving skills; multilingual capabilities are a plus.
Compensation: $20/hr.
