Supply Chain Director
Our client is seeking a Supply Chain Director to provide hands-on leadership across a multifaceted manufacturing supply chain organization. This individual will be instrumental in connecting teams, strengthening processes, and creating greater consistency across planning, materials, inventory, warehousing, logistics, and customer support. The ideal candidate is an engaged people leader who can navigate a growing environment, build alignment across functions, and use technology and data to improve how work gets done.
This role is on-site in McMinnville, Oregon.
Director of Supply Chain Responsibilities
- Provide leadership across production planning, material requirements planning (MRP), inventory, warehousing, logistics, and customer service within a manufacturing environment.
- Develop and support supply chain teams by creating clear expectations, encouraging information sharing, and building stronger collaboration across functions.
- Connect Planning, Procurement, Production, Customer Service, and other business partners to identify constraints, establish priorities, and keep materials and finished goods moving effectively.
- Improve the use of ERP technology across supply chain activities by establishing consistent system-based processes and minimizing reliance on spreadsheets and manual workarounds.
- Guide production and material planning activities to balance customer demand, inventory requirements, manufacturing capacity, and material availability.
- Oversee warehousing, transportation, inventory control, and fulfillment activities with an emphasis on reliability, accuracy, efficiency, and service.
- Facilitate cross-functional evaluation of customer requests and changes, gathering the necessary information to determine impacts and support timely decisions.
- Establish and evaluate supply chain performance measures, using operational data to uncover issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts that strengthen processes, increase efficiency, improve inventory performance, and support the organization’s continued growth.
Director of Supply Chain Qualifications
- 5–10 years of progressive supply chain experience within manufacturing, including responsibility for leading people and supply chain functions.
- Broad, hands-on experience across multiple supply chain disciplines, such as production planning, MRP, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and customer service.
- Demonstrated experience taking meaningful ownership of a supply chain organization or function rather than specializing exclusively within one narrow area.
- Direct people management experience with a track record of developing teams, establishing accountability, and creating alignment across departments.
- Strong ERP knowledge and experience incorporating systems into day-to-day supply chain processes. SAP experience is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing material flows, production planning, inventory controls, warehouse operations, and transportation.
- Proven ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries, gather information from multiple stakeholders, and lead teams through complex operational challenges.
- Strong analytical, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in food, consumer products, process manufacturing, or another regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience with supply chain systems implementations, warehouse improvements, expansion initiatives, or automation is preferred.
- APICS/ASCM certification or an advanced degree in a related discipline is preferred.
Salary: $135K-$150K/year + Bonus. (DOE)
