Warranty Claims Processor
Our client is seeking a Warranty Claims Processor to review and process warranty claims involving mechanical systems and components. The ideal candidate combines hands-on mechanical knowledge with strong attention to detail, process orientation, and the ability to interpret repair information in a computer-based environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with automotive, dealership, technical training, or hands-on mechanical experience who enjoys understanding how things work and collaborating with others to resolve technical issues.

This role follows a hybrid work model in Detroit, Michigan, with one designated in-office day per week and core working hours of approximately 9AM-3PM.

Warranty Claims Processor Responsibilities

  • Review, evaluate, and process warranty claims for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with established warranty and repair procedures.
  • Interpret repair information and claim details involving engines and related mechanical systems, including fuel, cooling, drivetrain, and other component-level concerns.
  • Apply mechanical knowledge to understand reported failures, repairs performed, parts involved, and how claims should be categorized or coded.
  • Investigate claim discrepancies, ask appropriate follow-up questions, and work with internal partners to resolve incomplete or unclear warranty information.
  • Collaborate with engineering and other technical teams to better understand claim coding, component failures, and repair-related issues.
  • Review technical documentation, repair procedures, service information, and other reference materials when evaluating claims.
  • Maintain accurate claim records and documentation while following established workflows, quality standards, and processing requirements.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and cross-functional discussions to share information, address questions, and support consistent warranty processes.
  • Identify recurring claim issues or process gaps and communicate findings to appropriate team members.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by asking questions, sharing knowledge, and continuously developing an understanding of mechanical systems and warranty processes.

Warranty Claims Processor Qualifications

  • Hands-on knowledge of automotive, diesel, engine, drivetrain, or other mechanical systems, gained through professional experience, technical education, internships, dealership exposure, or relevant personal projects.
  • Understanding of warranty claims, repair procedures, service operations, or automotive maintenance processes is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical repair information and understand how individual components function within larger engine or vehicle systems.
  • Strong computer skills and comfort reviewing detailed claims, repair records, and technical information electronically.
  • Process-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to consistently follow established procedures.
  • Natural mechanical curiosity and a willingness to ask questions, investigate issues, and understand how and why components fail.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical, engineering, and operational stakeholders.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Automotive, diesel, mechanical, or related technical education is preferred; relevant hands-on experience may be considered in place of formal education.
  • Early-career candidates with relevant mechanical experience, internships, technical training, dealership exposure, or demonstrated hands-on automotive knowledge are encouraged to apply.
