Business Analyst (Part-Time)
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst (Part-Time) to support business and technology modernization initiatives. This role will partner with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project resources to gather and translate business needs into clear requirements, process documentation, testing activities, and implementation support.
This is a part-time position working Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10AM – 4PM. The role will primarily work remotely, with occasional on-site needs in Salem, Oregon based on business requirements. Candidates must reside within approximately 50 miles of the work location or be willing to commute or relocate.
Business Analyst Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and clarify business needs through stakeholder interviews, facilitated discussions, document reviews, and research.
- Translate stakeholder input into clear business and functional requirements, user stories, business rules, process flows, and other actionable documentation.
- Develop and maintain current-state and future-state process maps, standard operating procedures, requirements documentation, and supporting system materials.
- Support requirements traceability and ensure documented needs remain aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with business teams, senior analysts, technical resources, and external partners to evaluate proposed solutions and clarify requirements.
- Develop user acceptance testing (UAT) scenarios and test cases, assist with test execution, document results, and communicate identified issues.
- Support implementation and change adoption by contributing to end-user training materials and train-the-trainer activities.
- Gather feedback following process or system changes and identify workflow impacts, improvement opportunities, and adoption considerations.
- Provide additional business analysis and project support as needed to help modernization initiatives meet established objectives and timelines.
Business Analyst Qualifications
- Experience performing business analysis activities, including requirements gathering, process documentation, stakeholder engagement, and solution support.
- Ability to translate complex business or technical information into clear documentation that can be understood by both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience developing process flows, business requirements, user stories, business rules, SOPs, or similar project documentation.
- Experience supporting UAT, including preparing test cases, documenting outcomes, and communicating findings.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, technical teams, project resources, and third-party partners.
- Experience supporting large-scale modernization, transformation, or enterprise-level initiatives is preferred.
- Facilitation, project management, or change management experience, including leading workshops and building stakeholder consensus, is preferred.
- Familiarity with data governance, privacy, or information security practices is preferred.
- Experience working with relational databases, cloud-based data environments, or similar technology platforms is preferred.
