PeopleSoft System/Application Engineer IV
Our client is seeking a PeopleSoft System/Application Engineer Level III to support the administration, development, integration, and ongoing reliability of a complex PeopleSoft environment. This role will work across application and infrastructure teams to maintain critical systems, deliver enhancements, support upgrades and patching, troubleshoot complex issues, and help ensure secure and dependable platform operations.
This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside in Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, or North Dakota.
PeopleSoft System/Application Engineer Level III Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support PeopleSoft 9.2 environments, including application servers, process schedulers, web servers, WebLogic, Tuxedo, Oracle databases, SSL certificates, and related platform components.
- Develop and enhance PeopleSoft applications using PeopleTools, Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, SQR, BI Publisher, PS Query, SQL, and related technologies.
- Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between PeopleSoft and internal or external systems using Integration Broker, APIs, web services, messaging, and file-based interfaces.
- Support PeopleSoft upgrades, PUM images, patches, bundles, tax updates, maintenance packs, and quarterly Java, WebLogic, and Tuxedo patching, including retrofit analysis, testing, and defect resolution.
- Diagnose and resolve complex application, infrastructure, integration, batch-processing, and performance issues by analyzing logs, SQL, PeopleCode, scheduler output, system errors, and integration messages.
- Configure and maintain PeopleSoft application, web, and batch environments, including clustering, load balancing, failover, web profiles, integration nodes, and interfaces.
- Perform environment refreshes, domain recreation, project migrations, workstation installations, disk and log management, and other activities required to maintain development, testing, and production environments.
- Collaborate with database, network, server, desktop, security, scheduling, and other technical teams to coordinate system changes and maintain platform availability.
- Translate business and technical requirements into system designs, customizations, enhancements, reports, interfaces, workflows, and configuration changes.
- Perform unit testing and assist with system and integration testing to validate development, configuration changes, patches, upgrades, and production fixes.
- Support production batch processing and scheduling activities, including the setup, modification, troubleshooting, and retirement of scheduled jobs.
- Research and remediate security vulnerabilities while supporting applicable security, audit, privacy, and data protection requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to team members, contribute to operational best practices, and participate in on-call support for production systems and batch processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation covering system configurations, designs, development changes, operational procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
PeopleSoft System/Application Engineer Level III Qualifications
- Experience supporting PeopleSoft 9.2, PeopleTools, PUM images, application servers, process schedulers, web servers, environment administration, configuration, and integrations.
- Hands-on development and troubleshooting experience with PeopleCode, Application Designer, Application Engine, Component Interface, SQR, BI Publisher, PS Query, SQL, and Integration Broker.
- Strong knowledge of supporting PeopleSoft technologies, including Oracle Database, WebLogic, Tuxedo, Java, Linux, Windows Server, SSL certificates, load balancing, clustering, and failover.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize application and system performance within complex enterprise environments.
- Ability to provide technical direction, knowledge sharing, and guidance to other team members while collaborating effectively across technical disciplines.
- Understanding of enterprise infrastructure and operational practices, including change, problem, release, configuration, and system lifecycle management, is preferred.
- Experience adapting to evolving technologies and methodologies, including cloud platforms and DevOps-oriented practices, is a plus.
- Experience automating administrative, deployment, environment refresh, monitoring, or reporting activities using PowerShell, shell scripting, SQL scripts, Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or comparable tools is a plus.
