Machinist Level I
Our client is seeking a Machinist Level I to join a growing manufacturing team producing precision machined components in a fast-paced production environment. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for individuals with CNC operating experience, recent machinist trade school graduates, or military machining backgrounds who are eager to build their skills and grow into advanced machining, programming, or leadership roles. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to producing quality work while learning from an experienced team.
This role is on-site in Hubbard, Oregon working 6AM-2:30PM.
Machinist Level I Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines to manufacture precision components in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and production requirements.
- Load raw materials, monitor machining operations, and unload finished parts while maintaining efficient production flow.
- Perform routine dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify parts meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor machine performance, tool wear, and part quality, making basic machine adjustments and notifying supervisors of issues when necessary.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to understand machining requirements and inspection criteria.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation to support manufacturing traceability and compliance requirements.
- Perform routine machine care, including cleaning, lubrication, coolant checks, and other preventative maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with supervisors, quality personnel, and engineering teams to resolve production issues and support continuous process improvements.
- Follow established safety procedures while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
Machinist Level I Qualifications
- Experience ranging from entry-level candidates through 2 years of CNC machine operating experience is encouraged. Trade school graduates and military machinists are welcome to apply.
- Experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing or machining environment preferred. Previous machine setup experience is not required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, or similar inspection tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn machining processes, tooling, and machine adjustments.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing quality standards and inspection practices, or the ability to quickly learn.
- Ability to identify basic machining issues and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Basic computer skills for recording production and quality information.
- Strong attention to detail, dependability, and a willingness to learn in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Salary: $24-$28/hr. (DOE)
