CNC Machinist & Programmer
Our client is seeking a CNC Machinist & Programmer to support the production of high-precision aerospace components through advanced CNC programming, multi-axis machining, and continuous process improvement. This role is ideal for an experienced machining professional who combines strong programming expertise with hands-on machining skills and enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges. The successful candidate will serve as a technical resource, partnering with engineering, quality, and production teams while mentoring less experienced machinists and helping drive operational excellence.

This role is on-site in Hubbard, Oregon working 6AM-2:30PM.

CNC Machinist & Programmer Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate complex 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes to manufacture precision aerospace components within tight tolerances.
• Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam, ensuring efficient toolpaths, reduced cycle times, and consistent part quality.
• Interpret advanced engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements to establish machining strategies and verify dimensional accuracy.
• Perform complex machine setups, tooling selection, fixture development, and process validation for new and existing production jobs.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues, making adjustments to feeds, speeds, offsets, and toolpaths to maximize performance and minimize downtime.
• Machine a variety of aerospace materials, including titanium, Inconel, and other high-performance alloys, while maintaining strict quality standards.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment to verify compliance with engineering specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve manufacturability, refine machining processes, and support new product introductions.
• Create and maintain setup documentation, tooling information, CNC program revisions, and manufacturing records to ensure repeatable production processes.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, reduce waste, and standardize machining best practices.
• Mentor and train junior machinists on machine setup, programming concepts, tooling selection, inspection techniques, and safe operating procedures.
• Support first article inspections (FAIs), preventive maintenance activities, and the validation of new machining programs before production release.

CNC Machinist & Programmer Qualifications

• 7+ years of CNC machining and programming experience in a precision manufacturing environment, with a strong aerospace manufacturing background required.
• Advanced proficiency programming, editing, and optimizing CNC programs using Mastercam for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centers.
• Extensive experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting complex multi-axis CNC mills and lathes.
• Demonstrated ability to machine titanium, Inconel, and other exotic or high-performance materials while maintaining close tolerances and exceptional surface finishes.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, machining processes, precision measurement, and advanced inspection techniques.
• Experience developing tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies that improve efficiency, repeatability, and overall process performance.
• Proven ability to diagnose complex machining and programming issues and implement effective, data-driven solutions.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software, manufacturing documentation, and ERP or shop floor management systems preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring junior machinists and collaborating effectively with engineering, quality, and production teams.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, lean manufacturing principles, workplace safety, and maintaining compliance with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100.

Salary: $38-$65/hr. (DOE)
