Mortgage Post-Closing Specialist
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Mortgage Post-Closing Specialist who thrives in a highly regulated, fast-paced lending environment. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring loan files are accurate, complete, and compliant for investor delivery, while collaborating across teams to support a smooth post-closing process. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.
This role is on-site in Tigard, Oregon or Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Mortgage Post-Closing Specialist Responsibilities
- Review and audit closed loan files to ensure all documentation meets investor guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.
- Coordinate with funding, secondary, and operational teams to facilitate the timely delivery of complete and compliant loan packages to investors.
- Manage post-closing activities including file imaging, document uploads, and system updates across loan origination and document management platforms.
- Process loan boarding activities such as mortgage insurance activation, loan registration, and investor delivery through external systems.
- Monitor and clear trailing conditions with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to service level agreements.
- Maintain strong data integrity across systems while balancing production expectations with quality standards.
- Stay current on applicable banking regulations and internal policies, ensuring all work aligns with compliance requirements.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to enhancing post-closing workflows and efficiencies.
- Serve as a resource to team members, supporting training, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing initiatives as needed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure clear communication, timely issue resolution, and a positive internal and external customer experience.
Mortgage Post-Closing Specialist Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in mortgage post-closing, with additional experience in lending, processing, funding, title, or escrow environments.
- Advanced knowledge of mortgage loan documentation, closing processes, and overall loan lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements impacting mortgage lending, with the ability to apply compliance standards in daily work.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience working within loan origination systems (LOS) and document management tools.
- High level of data entry accuracy and ability to maintain data integrity in a production-driven environment.
- Self-starter mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education or industry certifications are a plus.
