The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.

Product Development Engineer Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed tech packs, garment specifications, and construction documentation to support product creation from concept through production.
  • Partner cross-functionally with design, materials, product management, and external vendors to ensure alignment on product intent, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Manage multiple seasonal projects simultaneously, tracking prototypes, timelines, and key milestones to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Lead prototype reviews, capture feedback, and drive iterative improvements to achieve production-ready, high-quality products.
  • Translate design concepts into technical solutions, providing recommendations that enhance product performance, fit, and manufacturability.
  • Utilize Adobe Suite and 3D design tools to create, update, and communicate product details, including construction, materials, and graphics.
  • Collaborate with factory partners to support product development, troubleshoot issues, and improve production processes.
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and priorities clearly to stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

Product Development Engineer Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in product development, product design, technical design, or a related field within apparel, soft goods, or footwear.
  • Hands-on experience creating tech packs and detailed product specifications.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and relevant 3D product development tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and process orientation.
  • Experience working with manufacturers or vendors to support product development and production.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with knit products, yarn development, or socks highly preferred; alternatively, experience in apparel, footwear, or other soft goods.
