Apparel Product Designer
Our client is seeking an Apparel Product Designer to support the end-to-end development of performance-driven apparel, from early concept through production readiness. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative design ideas to life while balancing creativity, technical execution, and business constraints. The position will contribute to seasonal apparel initiatives and requires a collaborative mindset, strong technical design skills, and the ability to work with discretion in a fast-moving environment.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Apparel Product Designer Responsibilities
- Develop and refine apparel concepts from initial ideation through prototype execution, ensuring alignment with performance, aesthetic, and consumer needs.
- Create detailed design assets, technical drawings, and visual presentations using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Keynote to clearly communicate design intent.
- Collaborate closely with a small, cross-functional team of designers, developers, and partners to translate concepts into manufacturable product solutions.
- Support research and exploration of materials, construction methods, and emerging technologies to elevate product innovation and functionality.
- Participate in the creation and review of prototypes, identifying key construction details, materials, and processes required for successful execution.
- Contribute to innovation and development projects by working with internal stakeholders and external vendors to move ideas from concept to reality.
- Maintain awareness of cost considerations and budget parameters throughout the design and development process.
- Assist with documentation, reporting, and presentation of design concepts and project updates at the team or departmental level.
- Uphold strict confidentiality standards while working on sensitive or unreleased product initiatives.
Apparel Product Designer Qualifications
- 2–4 years of professional experience in an apparel product design or closely related role.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Keynote for design development and visual storytelling.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within team-based environments, demonstrating flexibility and agility.
- Solid understanding of apparel construction, materials, and product creation processes.
- Ability to take direction well, listen actively, and incorporate feedback into design iterations.
- Proactive mindset with the initiative to contribute ideas independently while supporting team objectives.
- Experience managing design work within defined timelines and budget considerations.
- Familiarity with 3D design tools such as CLO is a plus.
- Prior experience within large-scale or performance-focused apparel environments is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design or a related field preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered.
Compensation: Up to $40/hr. (DOE)
