Senior Accountant
Our client is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to provide interim support during a critical reporting period. This role is ideal for a steady, solutions-minded professional who is comfortable stepping into an established environment, collaborating across teams, and keeping financial operations moving smoothly. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, follow-through, and the ability to manage recurring close activities without extensive oversight.
This role is onsite in Portland, Oregon working around 32-40 hours per week.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries related to accruals, amortization, depreciation, prepaids, and benefits allocations.
- Reconcile cash accounts and ensure bank balances align accurately with general ledger activity.
- Support sales tax processing by uploading sales data, recording remittances, and maintaining accurate tax-related accounts.
- Prepare and maintain financial schedules, backlog reports, and borrowing base documentation for leadership review.
- Coordinate invoicing, follow up on outstanding items, and assist with ad hoc projects as requested by leadership.
Senior Accountant Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or operational accounting environment.
- Prior experience supporting month-end close activities in a corporate accounting environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately within established processes and systems.
- Comfortable collaborating with finance leadership and cross-functional partners to obtain and validate data.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple recurring deadlines.
