Senior Back-End Developer
Our client is seeking a Senior Back-End Developer to support and evolve a modern CMS-driven digital platform within a cloud-based environment. This role is ideal for a technically strong developer who combines deep Python and CMS expertise with hands-on experience in Google Cloud Platform and the ability to collaborate in a lead capacity with internal teams and partner agencies. The ideal candidate is solutions-oriented, comfortable working across both platform architecture and application layers, and capable of translating complex requirements into scalable technical solutions.

This role is fully remote.

Senior Back-End Developer Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain back-end functionality for a CMS-driven digital platform using modern development practices.
• Build, customize, and extend Wagtail CMS components, including content modeling and front-end structures such as StreamBlock and StructBlock.
• Work extensively within Google Cloud Platform, utilizing the GCP Console and cloud services to support application functionality and infrastructure needs.
• Implement new features, enhancements, and system improvements while ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues across development, staging, and production environments.
• Support cloud-based deployment workflows, system integrations, and operational stability.
• Collaborate in a lead capacity with cross-functional teams and external partner agencies to deliver technical solutions.
• Translate evolving product requirements and business needs into efficient and maintainable technical implementations.

Senior Back-End Developer Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in back-end software development within modern web application environments.
• Strong experience developing with Python and related web frameworks.
• Demonstrated expertise with Wagtail CMS, including component development, content modeling, and front-end block structures such as StreamBlock and StructBlock.
• Hands-on experience working within Google Cloud Platform, including GCP Console and related cloud services.
• Experience designing and supporting cloud-based application architectures.
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, DevOps practices, and modern deployment pipelines.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot production issues and maintain highly available applications.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in a lead capacity with internal teams and partner agencies.

Compensation: $55-$60/hr. (DOE)
