Senior Regulatory Specialist
Our client is seeking a Senior Regulatory Specialist to provide expert regulatory guidance across the full product lifecycle, from early-stage development through market launch. This role serves as a strategic partner to internal teams, ensuring products meet global food regulatory requirements while supporting innovation, speed to market, and customer commitments. The ideal candidate brings strong regulatory judgment, cross-functional collaboration skills, and the ability to lead compliance initiatives in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

This role is onsite in McMinnville, Oregon.

Senior Regulatory Specialist Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory compliance efforts for food products across domestic and international markets, ensuring alignment with applicable regulatory frameworks and customer requirements.
• Provide regulatory guidance throughout product development, commercialization, and reformulation, including ingredient review, product claims, and formulation compliance.
• Review, prepare, and maintain regulatory documentation such as product specifications, ingredient statements, and customer-facing compliance questionnaires.
• Ensure labeling and packaging content meets regulatory standards for the U.S., Canada, and other relevant markets, including nutrition facts, ingredient declarations, and mandatory disclosures.
• Validate and manage composition data, certificates, nutritional values, and regulatory codes to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customer regulatory inquiries related to exports, formulations, recipes, and compliance documentation.
• Partner closely with Sales, R&D, Quality Assurance, and Packaging teams to support compliant and timely product launches.
• Manage customer compliance portals and maintain up-to-date regulatory records and submissions.
• Act as a regulatory subject matter expert, providing guidance and interpretation of evolving regulations to internal stakeholders.
• Mentor and support junior regulatory team members while contributing to continuous improvement of regulatory processes and best practices.

Senior Regulatory Specialist Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related scientific discipline.
• Five to ten years of progressive experience in regulatory affairs and/or quality roles within the food industry.
• Working knowledge of global food regulations, including U.S., Canadian, and European regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting food products such as protein-based items and snack bars.
• Proven experience with food labeling, ingredient compliance, and product documentation.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complex regulatory data accurately.
• Ability to interpret regulations and apply them pragmatically to business and product decisions.
• Proactive, organized, and capable of working independently in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

Salary: $80K-$100K/year. (DOE)
