Network Engineer
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Network Engineer IV to serve as a senior technical expert responsible for the design, security, and operational stability of complex enterprise network environments. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining resilient, secure, and scalable infrastructure while partnering across technical teams and vendors to support both strategic initiatives and day-to-day network performance.

This role is fully onsite in Houston, Texas.

Network Engineer Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure including firewalls, routing, switching, and wireless technologies.
• Administer and optimize Fortinet / FortiGate security platforms to ensure network protection, segmentation, and policy enforcement.
• Support and maintain Aruba ClearPass solutions, including network access control, authentication workflows, and endpoint visibility.
• Ensure reliability and performance across LAN, WAN, wireless, and voice networks through proactive monitoring and advanced troubleshooting.
• Lead complex network projects and infrastructure upgrades from planning through successful deployment.
• Manage relationships with network vendors and service providers, including escalations and technical coordination.
• Implement and maintain network standards, documentation, and operational procedures to support security and compliance objectives.
• Support VOIP environments, including quality of service, traffic prioritization, and performance analysis.
• Perform network audits, configuration validation, and capacity assessments to maintain operational integrity.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration within the IT organization.

Network Engineer Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise network environments.
• Strong expertise with Fortinet technologies, particularly FortiGate firewall administration and security policy management.
• Direct experience recruiting for Epic talent or within Epic-focused environments is required.
• Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification is required.
• Direct experience with Aruba ClearPass, including deployment, configuration, and ongoing operational support.
• Deep understanding of routing, switching, and core networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VPNs, and TCP/IP.
• Experience with network access control, authentication mechanisms, and identity-driven security models.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues across multi-site or large-scale environments.
• Experience supporting VOIP networks and quality of service configurations.
• Ability to create clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience working within structured, security-sensitive, or compliance-driven environments is preferred.
• Relevant industry certifications are considered a plus.

Salary: $124K-$150K/year. (DOE)
