Senior HR Onboarding Specialist
Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Senior HR Onboarding Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This individual will play a critical role in shaping a seamless and positive new hire experience while driving process improvements, compliance accuracy, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple priorities with a strong sense of ownership.
This role is fully on-site in Boston, Massachusetts.
Senior HR Onboarding Specialist Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate end-to-end onboarding activities, including pre-employment documentation, background checks, I-9 processing, occupational health scheduling, and orientation support.
- Drive continuous process improvements to enhance onboarding efficiency, reduce time-to-start, and ensure a consistent, compliant experience.
- Develop and maintain onboarding trackers, dashboards, and reports to monitor progress, identify gaps, and communicate key metrics.
- Partner cross-functionally with recruiting, compensation, benefits, payroll, and hiring managers to resolve onboarding issues and ensure data accuracy.
- Support compliance and audit activities, including personnel file completeness, E-Verify/I-9 requirements, and regulatory documentation standards.
Senior HR Onboarding Specialist Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least five years of experience in recruiting coordination, onboarding, or high-volume HR operations within a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently while meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
- Experience working with applicant tracking systems or HRIS platforms; exposure to Workday or similar systems is a plus.
