Senior Frontend Engineer
Our client is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join a creative, brand-focused engineering team supporting highly interactive digital experiences. This role is ideal for a seasoned frontend developer who thrives in custom JavaScript environments, enjoys untangling complex systems, and can bring clarity and stability to a proprietary frontend architecture during a period of technical re-enablement.

This role is fully remote.

Senior Frontend Engineer Responsibilities

• Work within a custom, JavaScript-driven frontend system that operates outside of standard framework conventions.
• Analyze, understand, and contribute to a proprietary architecture responsible for rendering, transitions, routing, and component behavior.
• Reconnect frontend functionality to backend services, including API integrations and authentication workflows.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to rendering behavior, state management, and build processes as environments are restored.
• Validate frontend functionality across development, staging, and production environments following infrastructure reconfiguration.
• Support frontend build, bundling, and deployment workflows as CI/CD pipelines are re-established.
• Provide technical insight on architectural risks, limitations, and opportunities for future evolution of the frontend system.
• Create clear documentation to capture findings and support knowledge transfer for ongoing and future development.

Senior Frontend Engineer Qualifications

• Advanced JavaScript expertise, particularly outside of modern framework-based ecosystems.
• Proven experience working in proprietary, custom, or non-standard frontend environments.
• Strong understanding of rendering-driven or animation-heavy web applications.
• Hands-on experience integrating frontend applications with backend APIs and content systems.
• Working knowledge of modern build pipelines, bundling strategies, and deployment tooling.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex UI issues without reliance on framework abstractions.
• Clear communication skills and a disciplined approach to technical documentation.
• Experience maintaining or modernizing legacy or bespoke JavaScript codebases is a plus.
• Familiarity with headless CMS platforms and interactive web experiences is helpful.
