Senior Bookkeeper
Our client is seeking a dependable, hands-on Senior Bookkeeper who combines strong technical accounting expertise with business savvy and long-term commitment. This individual thrives in a small, relationship-driven environment, takes pride in accuracy and ownership, and serves as a trusted financial partner to leadership. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and motivated to build lasting professional relationships while managing complex, multi-entity operations.
This role is onsite in Vancouver, Washington.
Senior Bookkeeper Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle bookkeeping and financial reporting across related entities, ensuring accuracy and timely month-end close.
- Provide hands-on review and guidance to two accounting staff, maintaining high standards for quality and deadlines.
- Lead the transition and optimization of accounting systems to QuickBooks (desktop), strengthening processes and internal controls.
- Manage rental income tracking, lease documentation, lender activity, and replacement reserve draws for multiple properties and loans.
- Serve as the primary financial resource for ownership, delivering ad hoc analysis, investment and dividend tracking, multi-entity income reporting, and coordination with external CPAs.
Senior Bookkeeper Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of full-cycle bookkeeping or small-business accounting experience, including strong understanding of debits and credits.
- Proven experience managing multi-entity accounting environments and reviewing the work of other accounting staff.
- Demonstrated proficiency in QuickBooks (desktop preferred) and advanced Excel skills for financial tracking and analysis.
- Experience supporting real estate, property management, lending activity, or restaurant operations strongly preferred.
- Reliable, long-term oriented professional with strong business acumen, organizational skills, and the ability to manage confidential financial matters independently.
