Senior Accountant
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Senior Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. This individual brings strong technical accounting expertise, sound judgment, and a proactive mindset to continuously improve processes and strengthen internal controls. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who communicates effectively across departments and takes ownership of financial accuracy and compliance.
This role is a hybrid model in Vancouver, Washington.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities
- Lead key aspects of the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, revenue recognition, and preparation of financial reporting packages.
- Ensure accuracy of general ledger activity related to expenses, inventory, reserves, intercompany transactions, and subsidiary consolidations, including elimination entries.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, support SOX compliance efforts, and coordinate quarterly reviews and annual financial statement audits.
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and deliver management reporting and ad hoc analyses.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and support financial systems and tools (including ERP and expense management platforms) to drive process improvements and operational efficiency.
Senior Accountant Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in public accounting, manufacturing accounting, and/or internal audit.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with SOX and internal controls compliance; exposure to tax provisions and returns preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and deliver accurate work with strong attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
Compensation: $40-$45/hr. (DOE)
