SAP BASIS Specialist
Our client is seeking an experienced SAP BASIS Specialist to support the stability, performance, and scalability of a complex enterprise SAP environment. This role will focus on administering and optimizing multiple SAP platforms, ensuring system reliability, and partnering with technical teams to resolve performance issues and support enterprise application initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep SAP BASIS expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and experience supporting large-scale SAP landscapes in both on-premise and cloud environments.

This role is fully remote.

SAP BASIS Specialist Responsibilities

• Lead administration and technical support of enterprise SAP environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability across multiple SAP platforms.
• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain SAP systems and related components, including system refreshes, backups, and recovery processes.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and performance problems, collaborating with internal IT teams and vendors to resolve outages and technical incidents.
• Support major SAP initiatives including implementations, upgrades, and migrations such as S/4HANA transitions and cloud integrations.
• Perform system monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning to maintain stable and scalable SAP infrastructure.
• Coordinate operating system, database, and application patching activities while ensuring proper testing in non-production environments prior to deployment.
• Manage SAP security administration including user access, roles, and system authentication controls.
• Configure and maintain batch jobs, scripts, and automated processes to support operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, system inventories, operational procedures, and architecture diagrams.
• Serve as a liaison with software vendors and internal stakeholders to address licensing, support issues, and system enhancements.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and system resiliency initiatives for SAP platforms.
• Provide technical guidance, user support, and occasional after-hours or on-call support for critical system issues.

SAP BASIS Specialist Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting SAP BASIS environments, including both SAP ABAP and Java systems.
• At least 3+ years of experience supporting modern SAP platforms such as S/4HANA, C/4HANA, SuccessFactors, SAP BTP, Fiori, or SAP HANA technologies.
• Experience supporting multiple SAP implementations, upgrades, or migration projects, including S/4HANA migration initiatives.
• Strong hands-on experience administering SAP landscapes including ECC, BW/BI, CRM, BOBJ, Process Orchestration, and related enterprise components.
• Experience managing SAP environments across UNIX, Linux, Windows, or AIX operating systems.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex enterprise application issues, perform system tuning, and support the full application lifecycle.
• Experience with SAP cloud technologies and integrations such as Cloud Connector, SAP BTP, or cloud-based SAP services preferred.
• Familiarity with SAP system monitoring and lifecycle tools such as Solution Manager or similar enterprise monitoring platforms preferred.
• Strong documentation, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills within enterprise IT environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
