R&D Lab Technician
Our client is seeking an R&D Lab Technician to support their food innovation team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with a passion for food, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a hands-on laboratory environment. The R&D Lab Technician will assist in preparing product samples, maintaining lab organization, and supporting research initiatives that help bring new products from concept to production.
This role is onsite in McMinnville, Oregon.
R&D Lab Technician Responsibilities
- Assist food scientists with small-scale sample creation, testing, and sensory evaluation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully functional laboratory environment.
- Track ingredient inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage and disposal in line with safety requirements.
- Accurately document data, observations, and outcomes from experiments.
- Submit finished product samples to internal teams and external partners for review.
- Support ongoing research projects by preparing materials and providing accurate recordkeeping.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment, including calibrations and routine checks.
- Participate in occasional weekend work to support time-sensitive R&D initiatives.
R&D Lab Technician Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in food science or related fields is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow established procedures precisely.
- Ability to problem-solve and address minor technical issues as they arise.
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Must follow GMPs, GLPs, and SOPs at all times.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends as required by research and production timelines.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Compensation: $25/hr.
