Quality Control Technician
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to support quality and food safety operations within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring products meet internal standards and regulatory requirements throughout all stages of production. Candidates with flexibility to work either day or night shifts will be prioritized, with a current preference for overnight coverage.

This role is onsite in McMinnville, Oregon.

Quality Control Technician Responsibilities

  • Enforce and uphold GMPs, food safety standards, and quality requirements across production operations.
  • Conduct in-process, pre-production, and final product quality checks to ensure specifications are met.
  • Perform routine line checks, including metal detection, weight verification, lot checks, and date code validation.
  • Execute allergen and gluten testing in accordance with internal procedures and external certification requirements.
  • Identify, document, and communicate quality deviations or non-conformances to Quality leadership in a timely manner.
  • Audit food contact surfaces, production equipment, and workstations for sanitation and cleanliness compliance.
  • Perform sanitation inspections prior to startup, changeovers, and shift transitions, rejecting equipment when necessary.
  • Manage product and material HOLDS during assigned shifts, ensuring proper disposition per food safety protocols.
  • Inspect incoming raw materials and packaging materials, verify documentation, and pull required retains.
  • Verify equipment calibration, perform basic calibration adjustments when required, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Provide accurate and timely completion of all shift-related quality documentation and reports.
  • Partner with production, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure quality expectations and SOPs are followed.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in assigned work areas and adjacent spaces.
  • Coach and reinforce quality, safety, and GMP expectations with production team members as needed.

Quality Control Technician Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of HACCP principles, with formal HACCP training preferred.
  • Prior experience in quality control, food safety, or manufacturing quality environments.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and assess product compliance.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in fast-paced environments.
  • Effective communication skills with the confidence to address non-compliance at all organizational levels.
  • Comfortable working overtime, weekends, and extended shifts as business needs require.
  • Willingness to work overnight shifts; flexibility for day or night shifts.

Compensation: $23.60/hr + shift differential.
