Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, cost forecasts, and resource plans, with attention to long-lead equipment and permitting requirements.
  • Manage contractor and vendor performance to ensure adherence to project specifications, timelines, and contractual obligations.
  • Identify project risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies to maintain progress and minimize disruptions.
  • Support change management processes, documenting impacts to scope, cost, and schedule while communicating updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and applicable construction codes.
  • Facilitate project meetings and provide clear direction to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and tracking within project management systems.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment across teams.

Project Manager Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of project management experience within mechanical construction, mechanical engineering, or infrastructure-related projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with mechanical systems in construction environments (e.g., piping, gas systems, HVAC, or similar).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, field-driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of construction project delivery methods, contracts, and coordination across engineering and field teams.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Familiarity with permitting processes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements within construction or utilities.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Procore, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is preferred but not required.
