Procurement Specialist
Our client is seeking an Procurement Specialist to support day-to-day procurement operations and ensure efficient execution of source-to-pay activities. This role focuses on transactional purchasing, low-risk sourcing initiatives, and administrative workflow coordination. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to contribute to a structured procurement environment while supporting broader strategic initiatives.
This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.
Responsibilities
- Process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and change orders in alignment with established procurement policies and procedures.
- Review and validate purchasing documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Support routine sourcing events by developing RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs for low-complexity procurements.
- Negotiate pricing for standard purchases and recommend appropriate procurement methods.
- Assist with contract drafting and execution using approved templates and frameworks.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics and prepare documentation such as formal notices when required.
- Manage procurement-related service tickets and coordinate workflow to ensure timely resolution.
- Partner with Category Buyers and Managers to facilitate smooth handoffs and execution of sourcing activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, procurement standards, and applicable regulations.
- Identify opportunities for process efficiencies and cost improvements within transactional procurement activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 1–2 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, category management, or related functions.
- Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems and standard source-to-pay processes.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Basic understanding of sourcing principles, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement platforms.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and support decision-making.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
- Adaptable, responsive to feedback, and comfortable working in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred
- Experience supporting low-risk sourcing events or transactional purchasing in a corporate setting.
- Exposure to supplier performance tracking and contract lifecycle support.
Compensation: Up to $33.83/hr. (DOE)
