Outreach & Client Development Specialist
Our client is seeking an Outreach & Client Development Specialist to lead and scale a growing outreach and client development function focused on expanding B2B and institutional revenue. This role will own outreach strategy, client engagement, and team leadership while helping operationalize systems and processes that support long-term growth. Working closely with ownership, this individual will play a key role in shaping how client relationships are managed, measured, and expanded across the organization.

This role is onsite in Chicago, Illinois.

Outreach & Client Development Specialist Responsibilities

  • Lead and operate the outreach and client development function, including defining workflows, performance metrics, and success indicators.
  • Oversee the adoption, optimization, and day-to-day use of a CRM system, whether inheriting an established platform or contributing to refinement and best practices.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the outreach department, including coaching, prioritization, and accountability for results.
  • Drive direct outreach to institutional and organizational clients through email, phone, and relationship-based engagement.
  • Build and strengthen long-term relationships with existing high-volume institutional clients while expanding outreach to new accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue through proactive account development, follow-up strategies, and expansion of client partnerships.
  • Support business development initiatives such as proposals, RFP responses, and strategic partnership discussions.
  • Collaborate closely with ownership and internal stakeholders to align outreach efforts with overall growth objectives.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and client meetings as needed.
  • Continuously assess outreach performance and refine strategies, tools, and processes based on data and outcomes.

Outreach & Client Development Specialist Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading client outreach, account management, or business development efforts within a B2B environment.
  • Experience with CRM systems, including adoption, optimization, or day-to-day operational leadership, is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams or functions, set priorities, and drive accountability in a growing organization.
  • Strong background in outbound client engagement, relationship management, and opportunity development.
  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in execution.
  • Experience working with institutional, education, government, or similarly structured organizations is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, consultative approach.
  • High degree of ownership, adaptability, and comfort working in an evolving role.
  • Willingness and ability to work onsite, with flexibility for travel as business needs require.
