This role is mostly remote with occasional onsite working sessions in Boston, Massachusetts.

IT Resource Manager Responsibilities

  • Lead IT intake and prioritization processes in partnership with project and portfolio stakeholders, ensuring work is evaluated against criteria such as risk, compliance, business value, and operational impact.
  • Maintain a forward-looking demand forecast that captures upcoming initiatives, ongoing support needs, and anticipated resource requirements across the IT organization.
  • Develop workforce and capacity models that translate incoming demand into labor and budget requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to assign technical resources to projects and initiatives based on skills, availability, and strategic importance.
  • Perform capacity and capability assessments to ensure the organization has not only sufficient staffing levels, but also the appropriate technical skill sets to meet current and future needs.

  • Partner with HR and IT leaders to identify skill gaps and inform training or development strategies tied to emerging technologies and platforms.

IT Resource Manager Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in IT resource management, workforce planning, portfolio management, or PMO-aligned roles.
