General Counsel
Our client is seeking a pragmatic and highly self-sufficient General Counsel to join a growing, privately held organization with significant real estate and operational complexity. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys hands-on legal work, values stability, and prefers a close partnership with executive leadership rather than a traditional law firm track. The position will support an expanding property portfolio.
This role is onsite in Tigard, Oregon.
General Counsel Responsibilities
- Lead all real estate-related legal activities, including contracts, transactions, acquisitions, leasing matters, and development support.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, ensuring appropriate risk mitigation and business alignment.
- Serve as the primary legal advisor to executive leadership on governance, regulatory, compliance, and operational matters.
- Conduct independent legal research and manage documentation without dedicated paralegal support.
- Oversee and coordinate with outside counsel when specialized expertise or additional capacity is required.
General Counsel Qualifications
- Active license in good standing with the Oregon State Bar.
- Demonstrated experience with real estate contracts, transactions, or property-related legal matters.
- Strong ability to work independently and manage a high volume of legal documentation.
- Practical, business-oriented mindset with clear and effective communication skills.
- Early-to-mid career attorney seeking a long-term, non-traditional in-house legal role.
Salary: $130K-$150K/year. (DOE)
