Clinical Documentation Integrity Team Lead
Our client is seeking a confident and detail-oriented Clinical Documentation Integrity Team Lead who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven healthcare environment. This individual will bring strong analytical thinking, leadership presence, and a passion for improving clinical documentation quality while guiding a team of experienced specialists. The ideal candidate is collaborative, highly organized, and comfortable influencing both clinical and coding stakeholders to drive measurable outcomes.

This role is fully remote.

Clinical Documentation Integrity Team Lead Responsibilities

• Lead auditing and validation efforts to ensure clinical documentation accuracy, completeness, and compliance with coding and regulatory standards.
• Monitor team performance, data quality, and workflow efficiency, providing actionable feedback to improve documentation outcomes and KPIs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with CDI, coding, and validation leadership to develop training, education, and process improvements.
• Analyze trends in documentation, denials, and DRG assignments to identify gaps and implement prevention strategies.
• Support team development through coaching, onboarding, and ongoing education, while stepping in for operational oversight as needed.

Clinical Documentation Integrity Team Lead Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Information Management, or related field, with 5+ years of CDI or clinical documentation experience.
• Active RN license required; CCDS or CDIP certification preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of CDI practices, coding guidelines (ICD-10), and DRG methodologies.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and data interpretation skills with experience identifying trends and driving improvements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and experience working with clinical documentation or coding systems.

Compensation: $55-$60/hr. (DOE)
