BIM Modeler Lead
Our client is seeking a BIM Modeler Lead to drive high-quality modeling and drawing production across complex construction projects while helping shape modeling standards and best practices. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise in BIM tools with leadership capabilities, and who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced production environment.
This role is onsite in Portland, Oregon.
BIM Modeler Lead Responsibilities
- Lead BIM modeling efforts across projects, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with established standards.
- Produce detailed construction drawings and 3D models using Revit based on markups, specifications, and project requirements.
- Oversee and contribute to 3D coordination across multiple trades, supporting clash detection and constructability.
- Partner with field teams to develop dimensioned layouts and prefabrication drawings derived from model data.
- Guide and mentor junior modelers, providing training on Autodesk tools and modeling best practices.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of internal BIM and modeling standards.
- Manage Revit models including worksets, views, sheets, schedules, and advanced model components.
- Coordinate and integrate laser scan data into accurate 3D models, working with internal teams or external vendors.
- Prepare and manage electronic drawing files, documentation, and project deliverables for internal and external use.
- Participate in layout activities using model-driven tools such as total stations to verify dimensions and elevations.
BIM Modeler Lead Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in BIM modeling, detailing, or virtual construction within the AEC industry.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, with strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks.
- Demonstrated experience managing Revit worksharing environments, including worksets and model collaboration.
- Strong understanding of 3D modeling, layout, and coordination principles across multiple building systems.
- Experience supporting construction teams with model-based layout, prefabrication, or field coordination.
- Familiarity with laser scanning workflows and converting scan data into usable BIM models.
- Proven ability to train, mentor, or lead other modelers in a production environment.
- Experience manipulating Revit families, views, schedules, filters, and project standards.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to translate verbal and written direction into accurate design documentation.
- Comfortable managing document workflows, including importing external data and coordinating file distribution.
Salary: $100K-$125K/year. (DOE)
