Agile Scrum Master
Our client is seeking an experienced Agile Scrum Master to support enterprise-level technology initiatives within a complex IT environment. This role will partner closely with multiple agile delivery teams to drive consistent execution, continuous improvement, and high-quality outcomes using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles. The Scrum Master will act as a servant leader, facilitator, and coach to ensure teams are operating efficiently while aligning with broader program and organizational goals.
This role is fully remote. Applicants must work PST hours.
Agile Scrum Master Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate all core agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Support up to three agile delivery teams, ensuring consistent application of SAFe and agile best practices across teams.
- Guide teams through program-level planning activities, including participation in quarterly planning and alignment events.
- Partner with product owners and technical team members to support backlog readiness, sprint commitments, and delivery predictability.
- Track and communicate team progress, risks, dependencies, and overall team health to stakeholders and the broader agile community.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying impediments, coaching teams on agile maturity, and reinforcing servant leadership principles.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality technical solutions that align with organizational standards for technology development and change management.
- Utilize agile delivery tools to manage sprint plans, user stories, reporting, and performance metrics.
Agile Scrum Master Qualifications
- Active Scrum Master certification from a recognized certifying body, with the ability to provide documentation of certification status.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience serving as a Scrum Master within a SAFe or scaled agile environment.
- At least 1 year of recent experience acting in an official Scrum Master capacity, supporting team ceremonies, sprint execution, and agile delivery processes.
- Hands-on experience managing agile artifacts, including backlogs, sprint plans, roadmaps, story refinement, and productivity reporting.
- Demonstrated experience using Jira to support agile teams, including creating and managing user stories, tasks, issue relationships, and sprint closeouts.
- Strong servant leadership skills with the ability to coach, influence, and support cross-functional teams.
- Experience practicing one or more agile frameworks beyond basic Scrum, such as SAFe, Kanban, or hybrid models.
- Ability to support work prioritization within agile teams and guide stakeholders through tradeoff decisions.
- Prior experience supporting technology initiatives in regulated or highly structured environments is a plus.
- Exposure to utility, energy, or infrastructure-related organizations is preferred but not required.
