HL Loan Specialist
Our client is seeking an HL Loan Specialist to support a broad range of mortgage loan servicing activities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on loan servicing knowledge, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach while confidently managing detailed transactions, investor requirements, and complex servicing issues.

This role is on-site in Hillsboro, Oregon.

HL Loan Specialist Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive mortgage loan servicing activities, including loan boarding, payment processing, billing, payoff requests, reconveyances, account research, error resolution, and servicing audits.
• Manage escrow servicing functions, including annual analyses, tax and insurance disbursements, escrow account changes, mortgage insurance reviews, flood monitoring, and lender-placed insurance activities.
• Complete specialized servicing activities involving adjustable-rate and balloon loans, re-amortizations, regulatory protections, servicing transfers, repurchases, and other investor-driven requirements.
• Ensure servicing activities comply with applicable investor, agency, regulatory, and internal policies and procedures across a variety of mortgage loan programs.
• Research and resolve complex or escalated servicing issues while providing responsive support to internal partners, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Review loan documentation and account information to identify discrepancies, determine appropriate resolutions, and maintain accurate servicing records.
• Manage a high volume of assignments while meeting established deadlines and maintaining accuracy, quality, and customer service standards.
• Collaborate with team members and management to troubleshoot servicing challenges, improve workflows, and support continuous process improvement.
• Participate in team meetings, cross-training, and collaborative projects to strengthen operational consistency and knowledge sharing.

HL Loan Specialist Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in mortgage loan servicing, banking, lending operations, or a closely related environment.
• Working knowledge of mortgage servicing processes, loan documentation, investor requirements, and applicable policies and regulations.
• Experience supporting conventional and/or government-backed mortgage loan programs and working within established investor servicing guidelines.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently research and resolve servicing issues.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a service-oriented approach.
• Proficiency with mortgage or loan servicing platforms and Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• Ability to evaluate existing processes, troubleshoot workflow issues, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Compensation: $20-$30/hr. (DOE)
