Data Analyst
Our client is seeking a Data Analyst to support a high-priority data platform modernization initiative involving the migration of existing SQL Server workloads to Snowflake. The ideal candidate brings advanced SQL expertise, hands-on Snowflake experience, and a strong understanding of data warehouse migrations, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues, validate results, and help ensure a smooth transition to the new environment.

This role is fully remote. Applicants must be located in Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, or North Dakota.

Data Analyst Responsibilities

  • Convert complex Microsoft SQL Server queries and existing data workloads into Snowflake-compatible SQL, troubleshooting syntax, logic, and performance issues throughout the migration.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to confirm migrated datasets are complete, accurate, and consistent with source systems.
  • Investigate and resolve migration-related data issues while optimizing Snowflake queries and workloads for performance and reliability.
  • Support ETL pipelines and downstream reporting dependencies, including troubleshooting data flows and validating dashboards and reporting outputs.
  • Collaborate with data and technology teams to address evolving migration priorities, document solutions, and transfer technical knowledge to internal staff.

Data Analyst Qualifications

  • Advanced Microsoft SQL query development and troubleshooting experience, including hands-on experience converting SQL Server queries to Snowflake SQL.
  • Strong hands-on Snowflake experience, including SQL development, query optimization, data validation, and performance tuning.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting data warehouse or enterprise data platform migrations, preferably involving SQL Server and Snowflake.

Preferred:

  • Experience troubleshooting and optimizing ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Factory or similar data integration tools.
  • Familiarity with Power BI and experience validating reports and dashboards.
  • Experience working with healthcare data or within another regulated, data-sensitive environment.
