This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.

Marketing Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple concurrent projects and marketing initiatives from planning through completion, managing scope, timelines, budgets, resources, dependencies, deliverables, and desired outcomes.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and roadmaps, translating business requirements into clear objectives, milestones, priorities, and actionable workstreams.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources and stakeholders, negotiate resource availability, facilitate alignment, and proactively identify and address potential bottlenecks.
  • Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change control processes, escalating concerns appropriately and developing mitigation strategies to maintain delivery commitments.
  • Oversee marketing campaign workflows across channels such as digital, social media, email, events, and public relations, coordinating activities throughout the campaign lifecycle from initial brief through launch and measurement.
  • Monitor project performance, quality, budgets, and delivery metrics, providing clear status reporting and visibility into overall project health.
  • Facilitate project meetings, stakeholder discussions, and decision-making while effectively navigating competing priorities, ambiguity, constraints, and trade-offs.
  • Maintain accurate and complete project documentation, including plans, budgets, risk and issue tracking, decisions, changes, and other required records.
  • Support the continued development and consistent application of project management methodologies, standards, tools, templates, and governance practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement across project delivery processes, identifying opportunities to strengthen efficiency, stakeholder engagement, risk management, quality, and overall outcomes.

Marketing Project Manager Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of project management experience with demonstrated success leading multiple complex, simultaneous projects involving cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing marketing projects or campaigns, with an understanding of the campaign lifecycle and familiarity with digital, social media, email, events, public relations, or other marketing channels.
  • Strong project planning skills, including experience managing scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies, change control, and project performance.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence across organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify potential challenges before they affect delivery.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, prioritize competing demands, and guide teams toward practical decisions and achievable outcomes.
  • Familiarity with cross-channel direct marketing concepts, including audience targeting, business rules, campaign testing, and iterative optimization.
  • Understanding of project governance, process improvement, and change management principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, marketing, or a related field preferred.
