IT Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking IT Manager to lead and evolve their technology function in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This individual will bring a strong balance of strategic leadership and hands-on technical expertise, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with a passion for technology, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a people-first leadership style.
This role is on-site in Portland, Oregon; Bay Area, California; or Seattle, Washington.
IT Manager Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the organization’s IT strategy, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives and operational needs.
- Oversee and manage multiple concurrent IT projects, ensuring timely delivery, clear communication, and successful implementation of systems and infrastructure.
- Direct day-to-day IT operations, including infrastructure, systems performance, and service delivery, to ensure reliability, efficiency, and high user satisfaction.
- Manage IT budgeting, forecasting, and vendor relationships, including cost analysis, contract oversight, and performance monitoring.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for IT staff, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and collaboration.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand evolving technology needs and implement solutions that enhance productivity and workflows.
- Ensure the security and integrity of systems and data by maintaining compliance with established cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
- Act as the primary escalation point for IT incidents and service disruptions, guiding resolution efforts and maintaining business continuity.
IT Manager Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Information Technology, including infrastructure, systems administration, and network management.
- 4+ years of experience leading and developing technical teams in a management or supervisory capacity.
- Hands-on experience administering Windows and Linux environments, as well as managing local and wide area networks.
- 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or AWS, including IaaS and PaaS environments.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and frameworks such as NIST or ISO, with experience supporting audits or assessments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience.
- Relevant certifications in areas such as cloud administration, security, networking, or Microsoft technologies are preferred.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Experience with tools and technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash), or containerization platforms is a plus.
