Group Benefits Coordinator
Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This individual will play a key role in coordinating complex onboarding and renewal processes, requiring strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with precision. The ideal candidate is proactive, customer-focused, and adept at navigating cross-functional workflows to ensure seamless execution.
This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside in Oregon, Washington, Utah, or Idaho.
Group Benefits Coordinator Responsibilities
- Coordinate onboarding and renewal activities for large employer groups, ensuring accurate and timely processing of all required documentation.
- Lead coordination of onboarding and renewal activities for large employer benefit groups, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a smooth implementation experience.
- Review and interpret benefit plans, contracts, and prior carrier information to support quote preparation and ensure alignment with group requirements.
- Partner cross-functionally with sales, underwriting, membership, and operations teams to manage timelines, resolve issues, and ensure successful group setup.
- Oversee eligibility file intake, validation, and formatting to ensure accurate system uploads and proper member enrollment.
- Track and manage all onboarding and renewal milestones from initiation through completion, proactively identifying risks and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Support development and delivery of client-facing materials, including benefit summaries, enrollment communications, and welcome packages.
- Coordinate post-sale documentation, including benefit plan documents and required regulatory materials, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Assist with benefit customization requests and ensure updates are properly reflected across systems and documentation.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal teams, addressing operational questions related to benefits, eligibility, billing, and processes.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for sales initiatives, including benefit meetings, events, and client communications as needed.
Group Benefits Coordinator Qualifications
- 1–3+ years of experience in health insurance, benefits administration, sales support, or a brokerage environment.
- Strong understanding of group health plans, insurance terminology, and benefit structures.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Experience working cross-functionally and building effective relationships across departments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex or ambiguous situations.
- High attention to detail with strong follow-through and accountability.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
Compensation: $27-$31/hr. (DOE)
