Senior Risk Analyst (Energy)
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Risk Analyst (Energy) who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving market environment and can translate complex data into meaningful business insights. This individual will bring strong analytical rigor, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while partnering across teams to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is a collaborative communicator with deep market awareness and a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.

This role is a hybrid model in Tualatin, Oregon.

Senior Risk Analyst (Energy) Responsibilities

  • Analyze market and operational data to assess risk exposures, support trading activities, and deliver actionable insights to business stakeholders.
  • Develop, validate, and enhance quantitative models and reporting processes to support risk measurement and decision-making.
  • Produce and manage daily production reporting, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely communication to front office and leadership teams.
  • Evaluate complex energy contracts and structured products, translating key terms into system-level data and risk impacts.
  • Partner cross-functionally to support risk management strategies, improve tools and processes, and communicate findings with clear business context.

Senior Risk Analyst (Energy) Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with 8+ years in financial risk, energy markets, or a similar analytical environment (utility or trading experience).
  • Strong knowledge of North American energy markets, including power, natural gas, and renewables, with exposure to trading, portfolio management, or risk functions.
  • Advanced understanding of risk management concepts and methodologies, including Value at Risk (VaR), mark-to-market, and related exposure analysis techniques.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills, with experience using tools such as Excel and/or Python to support quantitative analysis and decision-making.
  • Experience working with risk systems or ETRM platforms, including Endur, with the ability to communicate complex insights clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation: Up to $76/hr. (DOE)
