Maintenance Technician
Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment. This individual brings a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, enjoys solving complex equipment challenges, and takes pride in keeping production operations running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, resourceful, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively to support continuous improvement.

This role is on-site in Portland, Oregon working Monday-Thursday from 5:30AM-4PM.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of production equipment, including CNC machinery, electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Install, test, and optimize new or existing equipment, making adjustments and modifications to ensure proper performance.
  • Develop, execute, and continuously improve preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Fabricate and repair machine components using blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions, including welding and material selection.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and utilize computer systems to track work orders, prioritize tasks, and document completed work.
  • Identify safety, environmental, or operational concerns and implement practical solutions to address them.
  • Perform routine electrical maintenance and modifications within scope, supporting overall equipment functionality.
  • Support equipment movement, setup, and layout adjustments within the facility as needed.

Maintenance Technician Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, with a strong focus on CNC equipment repair and upkeep.
  • Demonstrated experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, ladder diagrams, and technical blueprints.
  • Experience with PLCs and CNC controls (such as Fanuc), with programming knowledge considered a plus.
  • Proficiency in fabrication and welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a production environment.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations for machine calibration and part fabrication.
  • Comfortable using maintenance software or other computer systems for tracking and reporting.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing production needs.
  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license preferred.

Salary: $31-$40/hr + Bonus. (DOE)
