Senior Full Stack Engineer
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to support the development and reliability of critical systems in a fast-paced, production-focused environment. This individual will play a key role in building scalable applications, strengthening system resilience, and partnering across engineering functions to improve performance, availability, and incident response. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in full stack development, cloud infrastructure, and modern engineering practices, along with the ability to operate independently and communicate effectively in a collaborative setting.

This role is fully remote. Applicants must be available for occasional meetings in the Pacific Time Zone.

Senior Full Stack Engineer Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable full stack applications with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Develop and support APIs and microservices, including troubleshooting production issues and improving system observability.
• Partner closely with Site Reliability Engineering and cross-functional teams to enhance incident management solutions and reduce operational toil.
• Contribute to cloud infrastructure design and optimization across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Lead or support initiatives related to system resilience, including high availability and disaster recovery improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotations (approximately every 5 weeks) to support critical system incidents as needed.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to identify gaps, propose solutions, and implement best practices for system performance and stability.
• Utilize modern development tools and practices, including containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by evaluating new technologies, including AI-assisted development tools where applicable.

Senior Full Stack Engineer Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of professional software development experience, with strong full stack capabilities preferred.
• Proven experience with Java development in modern enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience designing and building APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong background in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Experience working in or alongside SRE or DevOps environments, including incident response and system reliability practices.
• Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and modern deployment patterns such as serverless or microservices.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, networking fundamentals, and application performance considerations.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) and backend technologies (e.g., Node.js) is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications (such as AWS) are a plus.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and willingness to ask questions and seek clarity when needed.
• Ability to quickly contribute in a fast-moving environment with minimal ramp-up time.
• Prior experience in large-scale enterprise or retail technology environments is a plus.

Compensation: Up to $60.67/hr. (DOE)
