Apparel Color Designer
Our client is seeking an Apparel Color Designer to support seasonal product creation through thoughtful, market-relevant color execution. This role centers on translating creative direction into production-ready color solutions while maintaining highly organized digital assets and collaborating closely with cross-functional partners. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, visually strong, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly iterative environment.

This role is a hybrid model in Los Angeles, California.

Apparel Color Designer Responsibilities

  • Execute and refine color solutions across apparel product lines, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and visual impact.
  • Develop, update, and maintain lineart and color files, including creation of new color applications and ongoing asset management.
  • Support seasonal color development by assisting with palette creation, color standards, and digital presentation materials.
  • Build, organize, and manage color libraries, family files, and related documentation to ensure efficient design hand-offs.
  • Partner with design, development, and production teams to validate color achievability and resolve execution challenges.
  • Prepare and maintain product schematics and visual tools to ensure downstream teams receive complete, accurate information.
  • Contribute to digital workflows, uploads, and system updates tied to color and design asset tracking.
  • Maintain alignment with project timelines and key milestones within the color and product calendars.

Apparel Color Designer Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Apparel, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of directly relevant color or product design experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with product lineart, digital color application, and visual asset management.
  • Strong proficiency with industry-standard design tools and digital workflows.
  • Proven ability to manage highly detailed files, libraries, and documentation with exceptional organization.
  • Solid understanding of color theory, product aesthetics, and commercial viability.
  • Ability to work autonomously while navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating across multiple functional partners.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience within a large, fast-paced product creation or consumer goods environment.
  • Exposure to structured color development, digital asset systems, or similar workflows.
  • Experience supporting seasonal or collection-based product cycles.
